Time and mobile connection

There are eleven time zones in Russia (from UTC+02:00 to UTC+12:00). Daylight saving time is not used in Russia.

Mobile coverage exists even in remote areas, 3G and 4G are available in the big cities. If you are travelling to Russia with your own SIM card, please be aware that roaming charges are usually quite high. To avoid expensive mobile phone charges, you can buy a local pay-as-you-go SIM card, although you will need your phone to be GSM compatible, and also "unlocked". Another option is to use an international travel SIM card (e.g. Goodline, GlobalSim).
